Looking for a relaxed outdoor evening between Busan’s October festivals? The autumn Starry Night Busan Night Market (별바다부산 나이트마켓) brings food, traditional drinks and picnic-style activities to Hwamyeong Ecological Park. The most important planning detail: it does not open every day within its advertised date range.

Starry Night Busan Night Market 2026 dates and opening hours

The dates below translate the organiser’s published weekday pattern into a calendar. They are a planning aid, subject to later weather or operational changes.

WeekScheduled opening dates
September opening weekend26–27 September
First October week1–4 October
Second October week8–11 October
Final October week15–18 October

A Monday-to-Wednesday visit should not be planned on the assumption that stalls are open. Older articles about the June edition refer to a different run. For autumn, use the September–October listing above.

What is there to do?

  • Spirit Busan: traditional drinks and makgeolli pop-ups.
  • Starlight Food Zone: outdoor dining and food trucks.
  • Picnic / campnic areas: sunset seating and picnic spaces.
  • Starlight Kitchen: drink-making, children’s cooking, self-cooking, running and yoga.
  • Local market: small-business stalls and a children’s flea market.

Check individual sessions for booking, age requirements and fees. Official autumn programme.

Think of this as a flexible riverside outing: choose something to eat, browse, and leave room for the activities you actually want. It is not the Busan Rock Festival, and a celebrity or concert-stage line-up has not been confirmed in the notice checked for this guide. Activities involving alcohol and children’s programmes have different audiences; check the age conditions of the individual session.

Getting there: use the campground landmark

Venue: lotus area of Hwamyeong Ecological Park, beside Hwamyeong Auto Camping Ground.
Address: 1425 Nakdonggang Jajeongeo-gil, Buk-gu, Busan.
Korean destination: 화명생태공원 연꽃단지 / 화명오토캠핑장 옆.

Google Maps: campground landmark · Official campground directions

The campground’s official directions use Gupo Station, Metro Line 3, Exit 1, or Deokcheon Station, Metro Line 2, Exit 5, continuing toward the park’s baseball-field area. The campground is beside parking P5. Its instructions explicitly distinguish this from the water-sports destination. Follow event signs for the final entrance.

Do not navigate only to “Hwamyeong Park” and assume the closest search result is the night market. This is a large riverside park. Check the final walking route and its suitability for your group, especially after dark. The station exits identify access routes, not a promise of a five-minute walk. If needed, use a taxi for the last leg and show the Korean address.

Three practical arrival options

  1. Metro Line 2: use Deokcheon Station Exit 5, then navigate toward the park’s baseball fields and campground.
  2. Metro Line 3: use Gupo Station Exit 1 and follow the campground approach.
  3. Taxi or car: search 화명오토캠핑장, beside baseball parking P5. Show the driver: 부산 북구 낙동강자전거길 1425, 화명오토캠핑장 옆 연꽃단지.

These access points come from the campground’s official directions. Follow market signs for the last stretch. P5 is a landmark, not a guarantee of event parking availability. Save your return route before it gets dark.

Food prices, entry and activity bookings

A confirmed admission charge and stall-by-stall food price list were not available in the event notice checked for this guide. We therefore have not called the event free or assigned a typical meal price. Check menu boards before ordering and the cost of each activity before reserving.

Use the programme booking page linked by Visit Busan for available sessions. If it redirects or an event is not yet listed, return to the official event announcement for the latest booking link. Check language, age, start time, cancellation policy and what equipment or food is included.

Nearby outings and a sensible food plan

Before the market: a daylight walk along the Hwamyeong riverside is the simplest pairing because it keeps you in the same park. Turn around while you still have a comfortable return route; the lotus-area name is not a promise that flowers will be in bloom in October.

Another local stop: consider Gupo Market as a separate daytime visit. Check transport between the market and the event rather than assuming one continues directly into the other. If you want a guaranteed sit-down meal, eat in the Gupo/Deokcheon area before travelling to the park; individual restaurants and hours should be chosen from current listings.

Choose food after checking the current stall menus; the autumn notice does not supply a complete vendor and price list. If your priority is a researched pork-soup meal, use our 20-restaurant gukbap guide and choose a separate meal destination.

Where to stay and how to finish the evening

For a trip focused on this part of Busan, compare accommodation around Deokcheon or Gupo with a clear station route. Sasang is another western-Busan base, particularly if you are also attending the rock festival or using Gimhae Airport. A Haeundae hotel can still work for a wider beach trip, but check the full cross-city return journey first.

A campground beside an event does not mean an overnight pitch is included. If you want to camp, check the campground’s separate reservation, equipment and operating notices. We have not verified overnight availability during the market dates.

A low-stress evening plan

Arrive in daylight or near opening, orient yourself at the entrance, then check food menus and your booked activity. Leave enough time to return to transport before your last convenient service. Bring a layer for the exposed riverside, comfortable shoes and a charged phone. Check the same-day notice if wind or rain is forecast.

The market overlaps with October’s larger festivals, but keep each outing realistic. Hwamyeong’s night market, Samnak’s rock festival and Centum City’s film venues are three different destinations. Choose one main evening event rather than expecting to move freely between all three.
