Researched by Kwak.kamoly · Updated 14 September 2026. This is an independently researched planning guide, not a report of a personal restaurant visit. Schedules and listed prices can change.
Staying in Nampo or arriving at Busan Station? You can explore the old city and try one of Busan’s citizen-recommended pork soups without building your whole day around a faraway restaurant. This route separates the Nampo/Bupyeong cluster from the broader Dong-gu area.

Pick your day:
Nampo market day: one bowl → Bupyeong or Gukje Market → BIFF Square.
Station day: store luggage → a Choryang meal → Ibagu-gil if you want hills and stairs.
Beomil-area detour: check the map before adding Halmae to a station itinerary.
Three citizen-selected names for an old-city food day
Seo Jin-seop Dwaeji Gukbap
서진섭돼지국밥
Listed 돼지국밥: ₩10,000; 수육백반: ₩13,000. Menu/source checked 14 September 2026.
Address: 30-1 Gwangbok-ro 39beon-gil, first floor (광복로39번길 30-1 1층), Jung-gu. Use the complete Korean name and address to avoid similarly described soup shops. Make this your main meal before exploring the Gukje/Bupyeong market area, rather than ordering a full bowl after several street-food stops.

Somunnan — Bupyeong branch
소문난돼지국밥 부평점
Current menu price not independently verified. Menu/source checked 14 September 2026.
The city names the Bupyeong branch specifically. “Somunnan” is a common restaurant name, so keep 부평점 in your search. Check the business listing and current menu before travelling; we have not borrowed a price from a different branch. Consider it an alternative to the first restaurant, not a compulsory second meal.

Sinchang Gukbap — main branch
신창국밥 본점
Current menu price not independently verified. Menu/source checked 14 September 2026.
The official selection places this business in Seo-gu. Do not rely only on an old English review or search for a similarly named shop in Jung-gu. Match the current main-branch listing before routing to the restaurant. The market district can be your wider outing, but verify the final street route rather than assuming all three shops sit together.

Two Dong-gu choices: not the same station-side detour
Uri Dwaeji Gukbap
우리돼지국밥
Current menu price not independently verified. Menu/source checked 14 September 2026.
Search with Choryang-ro (초량로) to distinguish this Dong-gu business from other restaurants called Uri. A Choryang meal fits naturally with a Busan Station arrival day. If you add Choryang Ibagu-gil, expect an uphill neighbourhood outing rather than a flat continuation of the station concourse.

70-year Jeontong Halmae Gukbap
70년전통할매국밥
Current menu price not independently verified. Menu/source checked 14 September 2026.
Address: 4 Jungang-daero 533beon-gil (중앙대로533번길 4), Dong-gu. Some listings still use 60년전통할매국밥. Match the address when searching either name. This is a separate Dong-gu excursion; “same district as Busan Station” does not mean immediately outside the station.

Things to do near your Nampo and Busan Station food stops
Gukje and Bupyeong markets: browse first if you are unsure how hungry you are, but keep room for the main meal. Shop opening hours vary; an area containing a night market does not mean all businesses open late every day.
BIFF Square: a Nampo sightseeing stop associated with Busan’s film history. It is not interchangeable with the Busan Cinema Center in Centum City, where many BIFF activities take place. Use the venue on your screening ticket.

A seed-filled hotteok is one possible shared snack after soup. The photo is a dish reference, not proof that a particular stall is participating in the gukbap festival. Check the stall’s displayed price and ask about seeds and nuts if relevant.
Yongdusan Park: a possible additional city-view stop for a Nampo day. Add it only if the walking and climbs suit your group. Our map links help identify each destination; route and accessibility checks still matter.

A practical half-day, without rushing
For a Nampo day, choose one confirmed-open restaurant, then browse a market and finish at BIFF Square or Yongdusan. For an arrival day, leave luggage before eating and decide whether you want the Choryang hills. Do not combine all five restaurants with a train departure deadline.
Nampo is a useful base for markets and the old city; Busan Station is useful when rail arrival or departure shapes your stay. A BIFF-heavy itinerary may favour Centum City instead. We do not quote room rates without dates and occupancy.
These five names come from the citizen-recommended 20 announcement. Missing prices are stated explicitly; current restaurant menus take precedence over older posts. See the complete list and festival dates before choosing a more distant branch.
