Visit Busan Pass: Is It Worth It? Prices & a Buy-or-Skip Guide

By Busan Fieldguide

THE PASS DECISION · CHECKED 1 OCTOBER 2026

Buy a pass for the places you already want to visit. If your Busan plan is mostly beaches, markets and cafés, individual tickets may be the better choice. A pass earns its place when the included admissions fit your route—and still add up after you remove one optional stop.

Worth comparing

Several paid attractions, compatible opening times, and enough room to enjoy them without chasing the next scan.

Probably skip it

A beach-and-food weekend, a film-festival trip, or one must-do ride surrounded by free walks.

Four passes, two different decisions

The product is for foreign visitors. Standard published prices below are per pass; compare the final checkout price for your dates.

ONE COMPACT PAID-ATTRACTION DAY

24 hours

₩55,000

Time starts with your first included attraction. Choose this when the visits fit inside one continuous 24-hour window.

TWO CONNECTED SIGHTSEEING DAYS

48 hours

₩85,000

A continuous 48-hour window, not two calendar dates. Check whether the extra day justifies ₩30,000 more.

FEWER STOPS, MORE FLEXIBILITY

BIG3

₩45,000

Choose one Purple / A attraction and two Blue / B attractions. Valid for 180 days from first use.

FIVE PLANNED ATTRACTIONS

BIG5

₩65,000

Choose two Purple / A attractions and three Blue / B attractions. Valid for 180 days from first use.

Each included attraction is a one-time visit. Check current categories, ticket entitlements and availability in the official English guidebook and live attraction list.

The useful number is what you would actually pay

Add the same admission types you would buy separately, using available discounts. Subtract the pass price and any extra transport caused by the pass itinerary. Do not count a café bill, free beach walk or unwanted attraction as a saving.

A worked example—not a quoted attraction package

Suppose your shortlisted admissions cost ₩70,000 separately. A ₩55,000 pass leaves ₩15,000 before extra costs. Drop an optional ₩20,000 stop and the remaining tickets total ₩50,000: paying separately is now ₩5,000 cheaper.

That is why we would test the itinerary twice: the full plan, then the plan with one stop removed.

Your realistic admission totalHow to read the comparison
Below ₩45,000No standard-price pass beats that total on admissions alone.
Above ₩45,000Compare BIG3 only if your choices fit its 1 A + 2 B allocation.
Above ₩55,000Compare 24H if your visits genuinely fit the clock.
Above ₩65,000 / ₩85,000Test BIG5 / 48H against the same realistic itinerary, including the stop you might skip.

Three travel styles—and the pass question for each

A slow coastal day

Haeundae → one booked ride → Cheongsapo café or harbour walk.

Our starting choice: individual tickets. The free coast and your food stop do not need a sightseeing pass. Price the ride you actually want first.

A paid-attraction break

Shortlist Busan X the Sky, the Beach Train and a Centum City spa visit, then check the current entitlements and transfer route.

Compare carefully: X the Sky and Spa Land are both Purple / A in the official guidebook, so BIG3 cannot cover both. Test 24H against individual tickets; do not buy BIG5 merely to fill unused slots.

An October festival trip

A rock-festival day or several reserved BIFF screenings already takes a large part of the schedule.

Our starting choice: keep sightseeing optional and budget festival tickets separately. A 48-hour clock has little appeal if most of it is spent at a concert or in a cinema.

A longer, flexible stay

Spread a small number of paid visits around market walks, meals and rest days.

Compare BIG3 / BIG5: their count-based structure may suit the pace better, provided the group allocation matches places you want to visit.

Five checks before paying

  1. Beach Train is not Sky Capsule. The guidebook lists the Beach Train. Budget the capsule separately unless your exact product explicitly includes it; confirm the train boarding entitlement too.
  2. A pass does not reserve a time slot. Check each attraction’s reservation or ticket-exchange instructions, last admission and closure notice.
  3. Transport is a separate budget. The physical pass has a rechargeable transit-card function; fares need a top-up. It is not unlimited free metro or bus travel. Mobile passes do not have that card function.
  4. Start the clock deliberately. A 24H pass first used at 14:00 is not valid until midnight the following day. Build the next morning around admission before its expiry.
  5. Check your party and ticket tier. Compare child fares separately, and confirm spa age limits, ride restrictions and any upgrade charges before counting a visit as included.

For a physical card, confirm the pickup point and its hours before the first attraction. For mobile, follow the issuing app’s live-QR instructions. Keep the reservation confirmation accessible and leave time for ticket exchange.

Put the pass inside your trip

Choose your three-day route first, then pick a hotel base. If the capsule is the priority, use our Sky Capsule booking and route guide. October visitors can start with Busan Rock Festival or BIFF and add paid sightseeing only in the time left over.
