Colourful capsules, an ocean-side train and a fishing-harbour lunch: Haeundae Blueline Park works best when you make Cheongsapo part of the day, rather than rushing straight back after the ride.
By Kwak.kamoly · Fares and booking-release rules rechecked 1 October 2026. First-hand ride: May 2026. Other operating details retain their linked source dates.
What I would do after my May 2026 ride
I rode Cheongsapo → Mipo around May 2026. For a sea-view-first trip, I would choose Mipo → Cheongsapo next time, then leave space for the harbour. That is my recommendation, not a claim that I rode both directions.
The cabin felt hot even in May, despite windows that could open. I would consider a cooler part of the day and check the actual sunset time before choosing an evening slot.
Cheongsapo’s road opening toward the sea was a highlight for me. I noticed cafés, pizza places and casual restaurants, but did not try all of them. Photograph the view from a pedestrian area, then decide on your onward transport before settling in for a break.
Arriving at Mipo worked well for continuing toward LCT, Signiel and a Haeundae beach walk. Choose the direction that leaves you where you want to spend the rest of the day.

Sky Capsule vs Beach Train: which should you book?
| Ride | Route and time | Best reason to choose it |
|---|---|---|
| Sky Capsule | Mipo ↔ Cheongsapo; about 30 minutes one way | A small cabin for your group and elevated coastal views |
| Beach Train | Mipo ↔ Cheongsapo ↔ Songjeong; about 25 minutes end to end | A longer coastal journey with sightseeing stops |
The capsule travels along a 2 km elevated section. The train covers 4.8 km and serves Dalmaji Tunnel, Haewol Skywalk, Cheongsapo, Daritdol Skywalk and Gudeokpo between its terminal stations. The Sky Capsule does not go to Songjeong. Sources: official capsule route and official train route.
Choose the capsule if the ride itself is your main event. Choose the train if you want to connect several coastal stops. Combining them gives you two perspectives without repeating the same experience.

2026 tickets and how to book in English
Two adults taking a one-way capsule and a one-ride train from Cheongsapo pay ₩66,000 at standard rates (₩50,000 + 2 × ₩8,000). Four people pay ₩92,000 (₩60,000 + 4 × ₩8,000). These examples cover only those two rides, not extra stops, discounts or food.
For the capsule plus all-stops train package, compare the operator’s current bundle against separate tickets. A bigger bundle is useful only when you will use its extra boardings.
| Ticket | Current standard fare | Unit |
|---|---|---|
| Sky Capsule, one way | 2 people ₩50,000 · 3 people ₩55,000 · 4 people ₩60,000 | Per capsule |
| Beach Train, one ride | ₩10,000 from Mipo or Songjeong; ₩8,000 from Cheongsapo/intermediate stations | Per person |
| Beach Train, two rides | ₩14,000 | Per person |
| Beach Train, all stops | ₩16,000 | Per person |
A single ride ends when you get off. The two-ride ticket allows one more boarding. The all-stops pass is valid for one day, but you cannot board twice at the same station; it is not unlimited back-and-forth travel. Everyone gets off at Mipo and Songjeong. Check the official fare page for packages and discounts before paying.
- Open the official English reservation page and choose Sky Capsule or Beach Train.
- Select the correct departure station, then follow the available date, time and passenger options. For our route, start with Sky Capsule (Mipo).
- Check the total, cancellation conditions and your email address before completing payment.
- Save the mobile ticket: its QR code is your boarding pass; the separate barcode is for parking discounts.
The operator releases the Monday–Sunday week four weeks ahead every Tuesday at 07:00 Korean time (KST, UTC+9). A small on-site allocation may sell out early. Changing a completed reservation requires cancellation and rebooking, so read the terms first. Official booking rules.
Some overseas cards may not work, according to the operator. If payment fails, use the contact details or official vendor information on the park website. For the train, be at the platform at least 10 minutes before your first reserved departure. We would reach the station 20–30 minutes early to find the boarding area. Capsule passengers cannot board early simply because they arrive early. Official FAQ.
Which payment methods can you use?
The operator’s terms list credit cards and online bank transfers. The available checkout options can differ, and a bank-transfer option should not be assumed to accept an overseas account. Some foreign cards can fail authentication, as noted above.
Save the issued QR ticket after payment. On-site tickets are limited and can sell out early; check the ticket office’s accepted payment methods before relying on a walk-up purchase. A booking attempt without confirmation does not secure a place.
If booking or payment does not work
- Check that the date, party size, departure station and product are correct. Sky Capsule and Beach Train tickets are different.
- Before paying again, check whether a confirmation was issued or a card payment is pending. Keep the booking reference and contact the seller if the status is unclear.
- If sold out, compare another time or the opposite direction only if transport still works. Otherwise make Cheongsapo and the coast your outing and use the Beach Train if available.
- If services stop for weather, follow the operator’s notice and your seller’s cancellation instructions. Move indoors rather than treating the coastal walk as an all-weather substitute.
How to reach the right station
- Starting in Haeundae: head toward the eastern end of Haeundae Beach and Mipo, then follow signs to Blueline Park. Set your destination to the station, not just “Haeundae Beach.” Mipo Station on Google Maps.
- Starting at Cheongsapo: save 청사포정거장, 116 Cheongsapo-ro, for your taxi or map search. This is useful if a Cheongsapo-departure capsule fits your plans better. Cheongsapo Station map.
- Starting at Songjeong: choose the Blueline Park tourist-train station near the beach, not the Donghae Line commuter station with the same neighbourhood name. Blueline Park Songjeong map.
Check live public-transport directions in Naver Map or KakaoMap and leave a buffer for the final walk. The operator’s station guide has station map links. Opening hours vary by season; confirm your date on the official booking page rather than relying on an old screenshot.
Cheongsapo photo spots: what to frame
1. The railway crossing near Cheongsapo Station
Frame the sloping street, sea and passing train for a scene that immediately places you in Cheongsapo. Use a designated pedestrian area and let the train enter your composition. Do not stand on the rails, stop in the road or cross a lowered barrier for a photograph. A phone zoom is a better solution than stepping closer. Find the station area.

Photo tip: take your shot from an authorised pedestrian area. People standing in the roadway in these photographs are not an example to follow.
2. The red and white lighthouse harbour
Walk toward the harbour for a different mood: boats, sea walls and the contrasting lighthouses. Try a wide harbour photograph first, then tighter details of boats and buildings. Keep to open public areas and respect any breakwater closures. Lighthouse map.
3. Daritdol Skywalk
The transparent-floor sections put the sea beneath your feet, while the curved walkway gives a strong shape to a wider coastal photograph. Admission is listed as free by Korea Tourism Organization. Confirm access on the day before building your route around it. Official visitor information · Google Maps.
4. The coastal walking route
Use the public path for sea-and-rail scenery between stops. A photograph with some foreground plants or a curve in the path tells more of the story than another close-up of a capsule. For window photos on the ride, avoid flash and hold the camera near the glass to reduce reflections. Leave yourself daylight for the walk instead of booking every activity around one sunset shot.

What to eat before and after the ride
Book the ride first, then place the meal on the correct side of it. Mipo and Cheongsapo are different departure points: a restaurant near Haeundae Station is not a last-minute stop beside the Cheongsapo platform.
Starting from Mipo: eat earlier around Haeundae
For a light snack, consider Goraesa Eomuk Haeundae on Gunam-ro. For a sit-down meal, look at Nagahama Mangetsu or Dim Tao in Haeridan-gil using our restaurant shortlist and maps. Allow a separate journey to Mipo; do not join a long restaurant queue just before your boarding window.
Finishing in Cheongsapo: keep lunch flexible
Choose a café break or check a local seafood restaurant’s displayed menu after the ride. Ask how many people a shellfish set serves and what is included. We have not verified a specific Cheongsapo restaurant’s current menu for this update, so a named venue or fixed meal price is not promised here. If you want a previously researched named food stop, return toward Haeundae and use the food guide.
Grilled shellfish — jogae-gui (조개구이) is the natural harbour meal to consider. Visit Busan highlights a coastal walk finished with charcoal-grilled shellfish in Cheongsapo. Expect a hands-on meal rather than a quick snack: confirm the platter size, included items and price before ordering. Ask whether staff will help with the grill. Visit Busan tourism information.
Useful questions to show staff: “두 명이 먹을 건데 어떤 메뉴가 좋아요?” (What would you suggest for two people?) and “이 가격이 한 접시 가격인가요?” (Is this the price for the whole platter?). If you have a shellfish allergy, choose another meal and explain the allergy before ordering.
A sea-view café stop suits a shorter visit or a break after the skywalk. Choose the actual view and available seating before ordering; a busy window seat is not guaranteed. Keep your next train time in mind. Browse harbour shellfish restaurants · Find cafés.
Restaurant menus and prices were not independently confirmed for this guide, so we have not presented old menu photos as current prices. Prefer a non-seafood lunch? Pair the trip with our Haeridan-gil dining guide, including Michelin and Blue Ribbon selections; it is a separate stop back in the Haeundae area.
One booking, two workable coastal itineraries
Choose your finish first: Cheongsapo suits a harbour-and-café ending; Mipo suits a Haeundae beach walk. The second route below follows the direction Kwak.kamoly rode in May 2026. The first is our suggested alternative, not a claim that both were personally tested.
| Your priority | Build your day in this order | What to leave out |
|---|---|---|
| Sea views, then a harbour stop | Reserve Mipo → Cheongsapo. Find the boarding area, take the capsule, then walk to the harbour and choose one café or meal. Decide on the return journey before adding a viewpoint. | Skip Daritdol if your next departure is tight. A restaurant queue is optional; your booked ride is not. |
| Finish at Haeundae Beach | Reach Cheongsapo first and take photos before boarding. Ride Cheongsapo → Mipo, then continue toward the LCT/Signiel area or the beach. | Do not book a Cheongsapo lunch after a Mipo arrival unless you intentionally want another transfer. |
| Continue to Songjeong | Treat the capsule as the Mipo–Cheongsapo leg, then choose a separate Beach Train journey toward Songjeong that matches your ticket. | Do not reserve a return toward Mipo simply because it appears in a standard half-day itinerary. |
Protect the booking; keep the rest flexible
For a relaxed outing, our planning allowance is roughly 3–4 hours including stops. It is not a measured tour duration. Allow the operator’s ride time plus boarding, one food or café break, and your actual onward journey. Recheck the total against your hotel, dinner or train commitment before adding Daritdol or Songjeong.
- The preferred direction is sold out: check the reverse direction and move the harbour stop before the ride. Only book if you can reach that departure station in time.
- The crossing is crowded: stay on the pedestrian side and photograph the harbour instead. A missed photograph does not justify stepping into traffic.
- The weather makes coastal sightseeing uncomfortable: check the operator’s service notice and ticket terms. Use an indoor stop around Haeundae instead of automatically substituting a long exposed walk.
- The meal takes longer than expected: drop the optional viewpoint first. If your next ride is approaching, choose a shorter café stop or eat after reaching your final neighbourhood.
For more coastal stops, use the Haeundae and Songjeong guide. Keep this article for the ride choice, booking and Cheongsapo connection.
Considering a city pass? Compare Visit Busan Pass with individual tickets before paying. Beach Train and Sky Capsule are different products.
Before you go
- Travelling with luggage? The operator lists lockers at Mipo, Cheongsapo and Songjeong; check size and retrieval hours before using one.
- Mobility needs? Ask the operator before booking. Its FAQ distinguishes train and capsule access and says manual wheelchairs must fold for the capsule; electric wheelchairs are not permitted on either ride.
- What to pack? Comfortable shoes, a charged phone for the QR ticket, and a layer for the exposed waterfront. See our October packing guide if visiting in autumn.
