Haeridan-gil, Busan: Cafes, Directions & a Haeundae Half-Day

By Busan Fieldguide

By Kwak.kamoly · Or and Dim Tao are my personal recommendations; the other stops are researched options. Route and wording edited 28 September 2026. Guide-listing checks are dated below.

Haeridan-gil is a useful addition to a Haeundae day when you want lunch or coffee before returning to the coast. Build your visit around one meal and one café, with time to wander between them. Our suggested allowance is two to three hours in the neighbourhood, plus whatever time you want at the beach.

Haeridan-gil: nearest station and time to allow

Nearest arrival point in the official guide: Haeundae Station, Line 2, Exit 4; approximately four minutes on foot.
Destination: Haeridan-gil / 해리단길.
Good fit: travellers staying around Haeundae, couples and small groups seeking a meal-and-coffee break.
Our suggested pairing: the beach after your neighbourhood visit.

What is Haeridan-gil?

The area developed behind the former Haeundae railway station, with cafés and restaurants among lower-rise buildings. Visit Busan highlights its mix of food businesses and small spaces. It makes a good contrast to the beachfront: smaller streets, a proper lunch and a slower wander. Official Haeridan-gil guide.

A half-day with one meal and one dessert stop

My picks: I’d recommend Or / 오르 for a Western-style meal, especially when that’s what you’re craving during the trip. For dim sum, I’d choose Dim Tao, main branch / 딤타오 본점. I rate the food, but I’d arrive before the lunch rush and check how the queue works that day. On a busy visit, the wait can reach around an hour. If you have a timed Capsule booking, make lunch the flexible part of the day.

Pick the meal first, then decide whether you want a seated rest or something sweet to take away. My own recommendations are Or and Dim Tao below; the other combinations are researched planning options.

Two named dessert stops to save

Busan Bada Sand / 부산바다샌드, main branch: 21 Udong 1-ro 20beon-gil, ground floor. Visit Busan identifies its honey-and-butter sandwich confection and gives the main-branch address. Choose it when buying a Busan food souvenir is part of the outing. Match this branch rather than the separate Gamcheon shop.

Caverin House / 캐버린하우스: 14-5 Udong 1-ro 38beonga-gil, ground floor. The tourism feature highlights Duplit bread and gift boxes. The shop is small, making it a better fit for a dessert purchase than a long café break. Ask about storage before carrying a cream-filled purchase through a long coastal afternoon.

Official dessert feature and branch details, checked 24 September 2026. Check the day’s menu and opening hours before setting out.

Suggested allowance: around 60–90 minutes for a meal including a modest wait, then 30–45 minutes for browsing or a break. If lunch takes longer, skip the dessert detour and keep your next booking.

Where to eat in Haeridan-gil: Michelin and Blue Ribbon picks

Build your stop around one meal, then leave room for dessert. I’d start with the food you feel like eating: dim sum to share, a bowl of ramen, or a slower Western-style lunch. The guide listings below help narrow the choice.

Two Michelin Guide choices

Nagahama Mangetsu / 나가하마 만게츠 — 2026 Bib Gourmand. Choose this for Japanese ramen with pork-bone broth. The Haeridan-gil branch is at 57 Udong 1-ro. Our pick for a focused noodle lunch; allow flexibility for the queue. Bib Gourmand recognises good-value cooking and is not a Michelin star. Michelin listing · Google Maps.

Dim Tao / 딤타오 — listed in the 2026 Michelin Guide. At 25 Udong 1-ro, this is our choice for sharing dim sum: consider soup dumplings, shrimp dumplings and tea. The listing is not a star award. The Michelin page checked on 24 September lists Tuesday closure and lunch hours. Confirm evening service directly instead of assuming the same schedule all day. Three Blue Ribbon Survey picks for your route

Or / 오르: stews, bread and a slower lunch

Or is my choice when I want a Western-style meal during a Haeundae day. It is useful to have that option: a good holiday does not require Korean food at every meal. I’d make lunch the main stop, then decide whether there is room for dessert before walking back towards the beach.

How to fit lunch into your Haeundae day

For a simple outing, choose Mangetsu or Dim Tao, explore the side streets, and return towards Gunam-ro and the beach. For a longer food-focused stop, save Or and Pattashu on your map and check their opening days before heading further into the neighbourhood. These are suggested pairings, not a fixed guided route.

Before ordering: confirm current menu prices, any minimum order and the day’s break time. Exact prices are not quoted here because a current branch-specific menu has not been verified. Ramen broth and dumpling fillings can contain meat or seafood; ask directly about dietary needs. Save the Korean names to avoid confusing another branch with the guide-listed location.

Finding food that works for you

Decide whether you want Korean food or simply a meal you will enjoy. You do not have to eat a “signature Busan dish” at every stop. Look at a current menu, portion sizes and the total price before ordering. If you have a dietary requirement, ask directly about ingredients; a dish’s English name or appearance is not enough to establish what is in the sauce or broth.

For a Korean pork-soup alternative, use our Haeundae and Gwangalli gukbap guide and check the restaurant’s latest menu before you go.

Lunch before a Capsule booking: what I would cut

If the restaurant queue starts to use up your afternoon, keep the ride and simplify lunch. If lunch is the experience you care about most, choose a beach walk afterwards instead of another timed ticket. Haeridan-gil is at its best when there is room to wander; a meal, two dessert stops and a rushed dash to Mipo is a lot for one afternoon.

Booking and photo tips

If a business accepts reservations, use its own linked booking channel and read the cancellation terms. For walk-ins, keep a backup and avoid making plans that depend on finishing lunch at an exact minute. Ask before taking interior photographs and avoid blocking narrow passages while filming.

Is it worth a special trip?

Our recommendation: include it when Haeundae is already on your itinerary. If you are staying around Seomyeon and have very limited time, Jeonpo may give you the café-neighbourhood experience with less travel. The better choice is usually the one that fits the rest of your day.

Before you go

Save the exact branch and check its hours, break time and menu. Michelin and Blue Ribbon describe guide selections; personal recommendations above are identified separately. For an overnight plan that connects lunch, the coast and your train home, see our two-day Busan itinerary.
