Jeonpo Cafe Street: 3 Cafes to Choose From & an Afternoon Plan

By Busan Fieldguide

By Kwak.kamoly · Personal visit notes expanded 28 September 2026: Strut around June 2026, and an evening at Day with a friend. Source dates and photo notes appear below.

Choose Jeonpo when you want a neighbourhood afternoon: one good coffee, a little browsing and enough time to follow an interesting side street. Our suggestion is to allow two to three hours, rather than turn it into a checklist of cafés. This is an easy theme for a solo outing or a catch-up with a friend; your actual pace depends on queues and how long you stay at each stop.

Jeonpo Cafe Street: nearest station and time to allow

Start: Jeonpo Station, Line 2. Exit 7 for the general café-street reference point; Exit 8 is my choice for Strut Coffee.
Map: Jeonpo Cafe Street.
Suggested time: 2–3 hours, including a café stop.
Pair it with: an evening in Seomyeon.
Order plan: one drink, plus dessert if you want it. Check the total on the menu before adding a second stop.

What makes Jeonpo worth your time?

Visit Busan describes a district where cafés, restaurants and small shops sit alongside traces of its tool-shop past. The appeal is the combination: try looking at the buildings and working streets as well as the drinks. The official guide places the café-street reference address at 26 Jeonpo-daero 209beon-gil, around six minutes on foot from Exit 7. Official Jeonpo guide.

Three Jeonpo cafés I’d choose for different moods

I’d choose the stop around what you actually want: fruit and yoghurt, a serious cup of coffee, or somewhere that takes you from afternoon into evening. One good stop beats collecting three takeaway cups you didn’t really want.

Café Jiye / 카페지예: fruit yoghurt and a sweet break

If you like desserts, this is my recommendation for fruit yoghurt. Check which fruit is on the day’s menu rather than arriving for a seasonal bowl from an old photo. It’s the one I’d shortlist when coffee isn’t the main reason for the outing. Café updates.

Strut Coffee / 스트럿커피: make the coffee the point

I visited Strut around June 2026 and kept the order coffee-focused. This is the stop I would choose when the coffee is the point of the outing. I found it straightforward to locate with Google Maps; make sure you have the Jeonpo branch saved.

For Strut, I would start from Jeonpo Station, Exit 8, rather than walk over from Seomyeon Station. That is a café-specific approach: the Exit 7 directions above refer to the wider café-street area. Save the exact café pin before setting off.

The space is on the small side. My advice is to arrive before the busy weekend afternoon period and keep a backup nearby. Reports of queues vary, so I would not build the day around a promised waiting time. One good coffee should not cost you the whole afternoon.

Strut was reported at No. 38 in the 2025 World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops ranking; a useful bit of background for coffee enthusiasts. 2025 ranking report. Search specifically for the Jeonpo location, since the brand also has Haeundae-related listings.

Day Cafe and Bar / 데이 카페 앤 바: afternoon into evening

I visited Day with a friend in the evening, when we used it as a bar. I liked it as a way to get a feel for a neighbourhood bar in Korea: somewhere to settle in and let the conversation take its time. My recollection is of wine and cocktail options, but I would check the current menu before arriving for a particular drink.

The prices felt somewhere in the middle to me—neither a bargain stop nor a major splurge. That is my impression from the visit, rather than a current price guide.

The walk is the main trade-off. I found the route uncomplicated, but it is not right beside a metro exit. I would consider approaching from Jeonpo Exit 8; coming from the Lotte Department Store area in Seomyeon can also fit a wider outing. Check the café pin against your actual starting point, especially in hot weather: an extra walk feels rather different after a summer afternoon outside.

Make it an afternoon, not a café checklist

  1. Choose your main stop by appetite: fruit yoghurt at Jiye, coffee at Strut, or Day for a later outing.
  2. Save the exact location and one backup before leaving. A map search is a starting point; confirm that the listing is the branch you intend.
  3. Leave time to browse the streets, then continue towards Seomyeon if that’s where you want dinner.

Give the neighbourhood two to three hours: settle into your chosen café, browse a few side streets, then decide whether to stay for dinner in Seomyeon. If the first café is full, try your backup rather than spending the afternoon waiting for a particular table.

Useful questions before ordering

  • 디카페인 있어요? — Do you have decaf?
  • 오늘 어떤 과일이 들어가요? — Which fruit is in it today?
  • 여기서 먹고 갈게요. — We’ll have it here.

For an allergy, ask about ingredients and shared preparation. Current menu prices and same-day opening have not been independently confirmed.

Photo and practical tips

Take a wider street photograph first, then a detail you genuinely notice. Ask before photographing inside a shop, avoid close-up pictures of strangers and keep entrances clear. On a rainy day, reduce the walking and choose one comfortable indoor stop; moving between businesses still involves outdoor streets.

Jeonpo or Haeridan-gil?

Choose Jeonpo if you are building your day around Seomyeon. Choose Haeridan-gil if you are already planning Haeundae. For a short trip, one café neighbourhood is often enough: spend the saved travel time at the beach, a market or a festival. Do not cross the city simply to repeat the same kind of stop.

Before you go

Save your chosen branch and a backup on your map. Same-day hours and menu prices still need a check; the neighbourhood route is based on Visit Busan, while the café choices above come from my recommendations. Prefer a beach day with a shorter café stop? Use the Haeundae option in our two-day itinerary.
