BTS in Busan: V’s Park, RM’s Art & Gwangalli After Dark

By Busan Fieldguide

A park photograph, an afternoon with art, then the bridge lights coming on: this is the BTS-inspired Busan day I would choose for a group with mixed interests. You can enjoy the member connections without making every hour about finding an exact camera angle.

Start with V’s connection to Busan Citizens Park. If art is a real priority, continue to the museum associated with RM. Finish on one side of the water: Marine City’s promenade for a Haeundae-based evening, or Gwangalli for a beach walk and dinner. One good ending is enough.

Pick a version that fits your day

VersionSuggested routeBest for
The relaxed city afternoonBusan Citizens Park → Seomyeon or JeonpoA short visit, coffee and limited transfers
The art dayCitizens Park → Busan Museum of Art / Space Lee Ufan → one coastal stopA full day with a genuine interest in exhibitions
The late startMuseum, if open → Marine City or GwangalliTravellers already staying near the eastern coast

For the full version, our suggestion is to reserve most of the day, leaving at least one flexible block for travel or a longer museum visit. The park and museum are in different parts of Busan. A metro ride belongs in the plan; this is not one continuous walking route.

Busan Citizens Park: get the photo, then enjoy the park

Visit Busan’s V and RM feature identifies Citizens Park as a place V visited. Its directions approach the photo area from the south entrance, near Siminmaru. Use those as orientation, then check the park’s current map and signs; an old pavement marker is not something to build the whole visit around.

Allow yourself a second reason to be here. Bring a drink, find a bench, or make a short walk your morning reset. If there is a queue for the fan photo, take a turn without holding up the path. Once the camera is away, you still have a park to enjoy.

Our suggested allowance is 45–75 minutes, longer for a picnic. It is a planning choice, not an official visiting duration. Keep a wet-weather alternative ready rather than turning a muddy or uncomfortable morning into a test of dedication.

Make lunch a decision point

If everyone is enjoying the slower pace, finish the afternoon around Seomyeon and Jeonpo’s cafés. That is a good day already. If the museum is your main reason for coming, have lunch before travelling east and give the art enough time. A rushed gallery visit squeezed between two café queues rarely feels satisfying.

RM’s art connection: use today’s museum information

Visit Busan documents RM’s visits to Busan Museum of Art and Space Lee Ufan. That makes this a meaningful art stop for fans, but it does not mean every exhibition currently on show is one he saw.

September 2026 update: the museum’s official programme lists reopening exhibitions beginning on 17 September 2026. Dear All The Yesterdays, in the main building’s second-floor Project Gallery, is listed through 14 March 2027. This replaces the old tourism article’s 2022 exhibition suggestions. Check the current exhibition list for your actual travel date.

Choose one exhibition that interests you instead of treating the building as a backdrop. Read the introduction, find a work that holds your attention and let yourself spend longer with it. You do not need specialist vocabulary to have an opinion. “I want another five minutes with this” is a perfectly good response to art.

Space Lee Ufan is a separate stop to check

The museum’s annex has its own visitor information. It currently lists 10am–6pm opening, last admission at 5:30pm, Monday closure and a public-holiday exception. Confirm temporary closures and admission arrangements shortly before your visit, particularly around a holiday.

Older BTS articles describe RM’s signature or guestbook in different display circumstances. This guide does not promise that either is currently on view. Go for the art; treat any fan-related display as something to ask staff about politely. Follow the current photography rules and allow other visitors their quiet.

Choose your bridge view

Marine City: a public promenade with a similar outlook

Visit Busan connects BTS’s earlier Park Hyatt stay and shared bridge views with the outlook from nearby Cinema Street. The public promenade offers a related view; it is not the exact private hotel-room photo location. There is no need to enter a hotel or book a particular room to make this part of your trip.

Choose this ending if you want a waterside walk before returning towards Haeundae. Let the changing light be the activity. Stop somewhere that keeps the walking route clear, and do not lean over barriers to match an old image.

Gwangalli: stay for dinner

Choose Gwangalli if you want your evening to continue after the photographs. A beach walk, dinner and the bridge lights make a more complete finish than rushing across town to collect both views.

Our local recommendation is to enjoy the beach itself, even if it is busy. For dinner, the owner of this guide recommends Sol Taphouse for an American-style pizza evening, or Kuromatsu’s Gwangalli branch for teppanyaki with a bridge view. These are our food recommendations, not restaurants we claim BTS visited.

Sol Taphouse, Gwangalli — 솔탭하우스 광안본점 · Kuromatsu, Gwangalli — 구로마쯔 광안리 · Gwangalli Beach — 광안리해수욕장. Confirm the branch, opening hours and reservations before going; a window seat is not guaranteed.

If a drone show is part of your plan, use the current Gwangalli drone-show guide and the organiser’s notices. Do not carry over the old BTS feature’s event dates or expect a purple BTS-themed display on an ordinary evening.

When the weather changes the plan

Rain can make the museum the main event and the park optional. Poor coastal visibility can make a long dinner more appealing than a photo walk. Our rainy-day plans give you other indoor choices. Leave enough flexibility for the city you actually find that day.

Visit Busan supplies the documented member connections; current museum information comes from the museum itself. Route choices and meal suggestions are Busan Fieldguide’s own. This is an independent planning guide, not a claim that we personally followed V or RM’s exact itinerary.
