A Jimin-inspired day in Busan can start with a market snack and end with your camera pointed at the sea. The tricky part is choosing which sea. Oryukdo, Dadaepo and Gamcheon look tempting on the same saved list, but pinning them together does not make them neighbours. Your bias deserves a better itinerary than a day spent changing buses.
My recommendation: choose a neighbourhood day in northern Busan or a coastal day in the southwest. If you have two days, do both. Add Oryukdo separately when you are staying on the eastern side of the city.
Choose your Jimin route
| Your priority | Suggested plan | Planning allowance |
|---|---|---|
| Childhood connections and local food | Seodong Miro Market; Hoedongmaru only if access is confirmed; optional Hoedong Reservoir | A relaxed half day, longer with the reservoir |
| Fan photos and a sunset | Gamcheon Culture Village, a meal, then Dadaepo Beach | Afternoon through sunset |
| An ocean-view stop from Haeundae or Gwangalli | Oryukdo, then return to your coastal base | A separate half day including travel |
These are our suggested time budgets, not measured journey times. Check the live route from your hotel before choosing. Allow room for a missed bus, a food stop and the very reasonable urge to sit down.
Seodong: start with something to eat
Visit Busan’s Jimin-themed feature connects his former Hoedong Elementary School, now Hoedongmaru, with nearby Seodong Miro Market. It also identifies egg mandu as a snack associated with Jimin and names Manna Bunsik as a place to try it.

Give the market a proper lunch break rather than treating it as a photo checkpoint. Find the stall, look at the menu and decide what you actually want to eat. If you are travelling with a friend, sharing a snack leaves room for another stop. If you are travelling alone, there is no obligation to order a table full of food for the photograph.
The old feature’s very low prices are historical; we are not repeating them as today’s menu. Confirm the current price and ingredients before ordering. The name contains “egg”, but do not assume that tells you everything in the dish.
Save these places: Seodong Miro Market — 서동미로시장 · Manna Bunsik — 맛나분식, Seodong Miro Market.
Hoedongmaru is an education facility
Seeing a familiar school name in a BTS guide can make a stop feel essential. Keep this one conditional: the site has an educational role, and this guide does not confirm walk-in visitor access. Contact the facility before making a special journey; if access is not available, keep the market as your main stop. Do not enter grounds or photograph children to complete an itinerary.

Choose one nature extension
Hoedong Reservoir and Geumjeongsan are regional additions in the tourism feature, not proof that Jimin personally followed every path. Choose the reservoir if your idea of a good afternoon is walking, talking and taking breaks. Choose a mountain outing only if that is a genuine priority, with suitable shoes and enough daylight. I would not attach both to a short market visit.
Check the journey to the exact trail entrance, not just a pin in the middle of the water or mountain. The original article’s cable-car suggestion is not included as a guaranteed operating service here.

Gamcheon and Dadaepo: the coastal day I would choose
For a first Busan trip, this is the easier sell to a mixed group of ARMY and friends along for the holiday. Gamcheon supplies the colour; Dadaepo gives you an unhurried finish. Visit Busan identifies the Jimin-and-Jungkook mural in Gamcheon as a fan photo stop and Dadaepo as a beach Jimin visited. A mural celebrating the members is a different kind of connection from a documented visit.

Our local recommendation for Gamcheon is to arrive without a suitcase and give yourself time for the smaller lanes, not just the Little Prince queue. Ask at the visitor information point for the current mural location. Artwork and signs can change, and wandering into private entrances is not a good substitute for directions. Our Gamcheon walking guide covers the slopes, transport and café breaks in more detail.
After the village, eat before making Dadaepo the final stop. Travel towards Toseong Station and use Line 1 towards Dadaepo Beach Station, checking the local connection from the village that day. This is a transfer between two destinations, not a continuous seaside walk.
Leave the last hour open
Dadaepo’s appeal is the room it gives the sky. The wide beach and waterside walking areas make it a good place to slow the day down. Visit Busan’s Dadaepo guide highlights its sunset and ecological boardwalk. Pick a comfortable public viewpoint while it is still light, then let the light change instead of moving to a new spot every five minutes.

My planning suggestion is to arrive about an hour before that day’s sunset, with extra travel time if the forecast looks promising. That is a buffer, not a promise of a colourful sky. Stay on permitted paths and respect beach access notices. A fountain performance is a bonus only when its current schedule confirms one; it is not the reason this route works.

Where Oryukdo fits
The Jimin feature records a visit to Oryukdo in 2015. Make it a separate eastern-coast outing if the sea view is your priority, especially when your hotel is around Haeundae or Gwangalli. Look for current visitor guidance rather than assuming an old pavement photo marker is still in place.

Oryukdo’s skywalk and the surrounding viewpoint are separate experiences. The official destination guide warns that rain, strong wind and maintenance can restrict skywalk access. Check conditions before travelling and follow the posted rules; a fan-photo recreation can wait.

If you only have one afternoon
Choose Gamcheon and Dadaepo for a broad introduction to Busan, or Seodong for a stronger focus on the childhood connection. If the weather turns, make the market and a café your shorter plan, using our rainy-day guide for the rest. The best souvenir here may simply be a day that had enough space for you to enjoy it.
